What does Oz stand for?
Oz means ounces and represents the weight of the boxing gloves. The higher the ounces, the thicker the padding and therefore the protection for the fist and opponent.
How do I choose the correct number of Oz?
The choice of ounces depends on the intended use (intensity/competition/training/sparring/punching bag) and the size and weight and the associated punching power. As body weight increases, punching power also increases and therefore more padding is needed in the punching area of the boxing gloves.
Our size recommendation:
10 ounces for use on the bag and claw, competitions
12-14 ounces for partner training
14-16 ounces for sparring
If you weigh less than 80 kg, sparring is also possible with 14 Oz.
